The Arizona Cardinals haven’t had much success in recent years, despite the presence of an above-average quarterback in Kyler Murray who is still relatively young.
But they will have six picks in the first 90 selections of next week’s NFL draft, which will present head coach Jonathan Gannon to bring in a good amount of decent talent.
Field Yates of ESPN is bullish on Arizona’s ability to reshape their roster in a hurry and become competitive rather quickly thanks to those six picks.

Of course, the big piece of draft capital Arizona has is the No. 4 overall pick, and there are multiple things they can do with it.
Assuming they’re content with Murray under center, despite his modest 5-foot-10 stature, they can go with a skill player such as Marvin Harrison Jr., who is considered by most to be the best wide receiver prospect in this year’s draft.
The Cardinals ranked near the bottom of the NFL in pass offense last season, and none of their wideouts reached 600 receiving yards.
They can also trade that No. 4 selection and obtain some additional draft picks later on in order to address more weaknesses.
If they do that, a team such as the Minnesota Vikings could supply them with that additional capital while being able to take a quarterback such as J.J. McCarthy at No. 4.
In the last 10 seasons, the Cardinals have made the playoffs just three times and won just one postseason game, and they have finished 4-13 in both of the last two seasons.
