Jordan Love has officially put the Green Bay Packers against the wall.
He’s let the team know that he doesn’t intend to show up to training camp unless he gets a new contract.
Both parties have been in talks about a new deal for quite a while now, so it’s not like the Packers haven’t tried to get him to put pen to paper.
That’s why NFC North insider Carmen Vitali wouldn’t be shocked if he were to reset the quarterback market.
Talking to Kay Adams for her Up & Adams show, Vitali argued that Love has a legitimate chance to become the highest-paid quarterback in the league.

Notably, that’s just the way things work in the league right now.
It’s not about whether the player is the best at his position as much as it is about getting more than what the other guy got.
Whatever the Packers agree to give Love will most likely look crazy now and then look like a bargain a couple of years from now.
Moreover, whatever the Packers decide to give him could also have a ripple effect on South Beach.
The Miami Dolphins and Tua Tagovailoa are also working on a new contract and, again, if Love resets the market, Tagovailoa could get even more.
Whether they should make more money than the likes of Patrick Mahomes or Joe Burrow is not up for debate at this point, and it’s just what teams must pay for a franchise quarterback nowadays.
