The Philadelphia 76ers have a 16-7 track record, the reigning MVP, and one of the league’s deepest rosters, but that doesn’t mean they won’t make some changes soon.

However, according to Sixers insider Keith Pompey, they likely won’t part ways with Tobias Harris.

A fan wrote to The Philadelphia Inquirer and asked Pompey about this and he gave a frank answer: Harris is just too hard to replace.

“I don’t see [the Sixers trading Tobias Harris] at this moment because Harris would be hard to replace,” Pompey started.

He went on:

“Plus, the Sixers will need the power forward to play at a high level to win a championship. Harris has to score 15 to 20 points a game in the postseason. So it’s hard to get rid of someone that important to the team’s success.”

It’s not entirely clear why the fan wanted to get rid of Harris, as he has been having a strong season so far.

Harris is averaging 17 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game, which is higher than last season.

His numbers have improved and his field goal percentage has increased as well, meaning his shot selection has been better too.

As Pompey noted, the Sixers will need that output from Harris when the playoffs begin and expect about 15 to 20 points from him.

There is very little chance that the 76ers will move Harris but there are other choices they could make.

The team is the fourth-best in the East, behind the Orlando Magic, Milwaukee Bucks, and Boston Celtics.

They are doing better than some people expected but they aren’t yet satisfied and hope to improve.

According to Pompey, they will try to do that with Harris on the roster.
