Once the San Francisco 49ers officially lost in overtime to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl, the storied franchise needed to answer a few questions during the NFL offseason.
One of those questions was what the future held for star wide receiver Brand Aiyuik, as he desired a new long-term contract extension and is more than deserving of it, considering his production on the gridiron for San Francisco.
With the 49ers having one of the most high-powered offenses in the NFL with elite players at quarterback, running back, tight end and wide receiver, San Francisco doesn’t want to ruin that kind of advantage, especially with the team potentially contending for a title year after year moving forward.
That said, it seemed inevitable that the 49ers would see eye-to-eye with Aiyuk and get a deal done sooner rather than later, but that hasn’t been the case, as now a trade looks more likely than an extension after an interesting TikTok post from the wide receiver, which Daryle Johnson of 95.7 The Game said shows a trade is around the corner.
“I think it is imminent, a trade is coming,” Johnson said.

At this point in time, it is anyone’s guess how this will all play out in San Francisco, as it doesn’t look good for the 49ers, with a trade potentially being the team’s only option if they don’t want to pay his asking price.
Only time will tell where Aiyuk will be suiting up next season and whether the 49ers still hope to bring him back.
