The Chicago Bulls made a mistake by giving Zach LaVine the kind of money that they did.

They gave 1A money to an injury-prone and one-dimensional player.

Now, they’re paying for it.

LaVine has been tangled up in trade rumors for more than a year now, but to no avail.

According to ESPN analyst Bobby Marks, not even a first-round pick would be enough for another team to absorb LaVine’s albatross of a deal, adding that the Bulls haven’t found any takers for him despite having him on the trade block for months (via SiriusXM NBA Radio).

“I don’t even think if they attached a first round pick teams would take [Zach LaVine].”

LaVine got into a run-in with coach Billy Donovan and with local media.

His body language and attitude didn’t do much to help his case.

LaVine has one of the worst contracts in the game right now, similar to Ben Simmons’ or Bradley Beal’s.

Of course, it’s hard to judge the Bulls for making such a blatant mistake.

Their hands were pretty much tied at the time they signed him to that contract extension.

Now, they can only hope that he’s healthy and plays well next season to drive his trade value up, although having him there taking touches away from Matas Buzelis might not be in their best interest.
