In a somewhat shocking turn of events, Odell Beckham Jr. is now officially a Baltimore Raven.
The former superstar wideout missed the entire 2022 season while nursing an ACL injury, and he had to prove to all NFL teams that he was fully healthy and ready to come back.
However, as good as he is, and despite being finally healthy, not many teams were actually willing to meet his steep asking price.
There were serious doubts about his durability after he struggled with injuries for so long, regardless of his undeniable talent and athleticism.
Notably, most people still thought that OBJ would end up with the New York Jets.
They reportedly had a very positive meeting to discuss his potential role in an Aaron Rodgers-led offense, and he had high hopes of teaming up with the four-time MVP.
That’s why it was kind of shocking to see him end up with the Ravens instead, at least until they revealed the terms of the agreement.
The Ravens signed him to a deal that was worth up to $18 million, which is far more what he would’ve gotten in New York.
And according to NFL insider Craig Carton, he actually gave the Jets a chance to match the offer before signing with Baltimore, but that didn’t happen.

So, OBJ didn’t even join his first choice, but the Ravens were clearly determined to have him on the team next season.
Now, will that be enough to appease Lamar Jackson’s desire to leave?
We’ll have to wait and see.
