Analyst Calls For Warriors To Let Star Leave Team

For years, the Golden State Warriors dominated the league with ease.

They were the last dynasty in the game, and they had one of the most epic runs in NBA history.

Unfortunately, all great things eventually come to an end, and their dynasty wasn’t the exception to that rule.

There’s still a light at the end of the tunnel and they could still be a championship contender because of Stephen Curry, but the front office needs to surround him with different players to make the most of his talents.

With that in mind, sports analyst Dan Devone claimed that they should part ways with Klay Thompson, as they need to get younger, not older (via 95.7 The Game).

“You have to come to grips that this an older basketball team, that needs to get younger, and Klay Thompson has got to go.” – Dan Devone

Thompson is going to become a free agent for the first time in his career.

He’s repeatedly talked about wanting to finish his career in the Bay Area, and he even admitted that he would take a pay cut and even a smaller role.

Nonetheless, other teams are reportedly ready to make him a big offer, and if he doesn’t feel valued or respected by the Warriors, he could walk away.

The Splash Brothers era will always be remembered, and he’s going to have a statue outside of Chase Center and his jersey hanging in the rafters next to Curry’s; there’s simply no doubt about that.

But maybe, if he doesn’t agree to a significant pay cut, the Warriors might have no choice but to let him walk away to try and make one final championship run with Curry at the helm.
