This has been the usual rough season for the Cleveland Browns, the likes of which their devoted fans are very used to.
In Week 2 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, star running back Nick Chubb, who is arguably the best in the NFL at his position, went down with a severe knee injury that ended his season.
Quarterback Deshaun Watson has also been banged up this year with a rotator cuff injury, and he missed three games as a result.
But on Sunday, in the Browns’ thrilling win over the Baltimore Ravens, he suffered a more severe shoulder injury that will end his season prematurely.
Nick Wright said on FS1’s “First Things First” that the Browns are in lots of trouble because they didn’t keep backup quarterback Josh Dobbs while also saying Watson’s five-year, $230 million contract is the “opposite of the gift that keeps on giving.”
“This contract is the opposite of the gift that keeps on giving. … This was the Browns moment. This is still a good team in the micro but it’s a disaster & it didn’t have to be if they kept Josh Dobbs.”

Dobbs was a member of the Browns last season when Watson was serving his 11-game suspension, but they waived him shortly after Watson returned to game action.
They brought him back in March, only to trade him to the Arizona Cardinals in August.
Cleveland has been finding ways to win games it perhaps shouldn’t have won this season, and as a result, they hold a 6-3 record, but they will be hard-pressed to make the playoffs without the three-time Pro Bowl signal-caller.
