Russell Westbrook has only been with the Los Angeles Clippers for a few months but he already has a choice to make.
Does he remain with the team or try his hand with another?
Westbrook is a free agent this summer, which means he could end up leaving the Clippers even though he just joined them.
NBA analyst Nick Friedell thinks Westbrook should remain in Los Angeles for as long as possible.
“He should stay right where he is,” Friedell said, on Monday’s First Take.
Friedell added:
“After all the ups and downs that Russ has gone through in the last few years, to find a place where you’ve got a coach in Ty Lue who’s got your back, where you have comfort with the players on that roster…stay right where you are with the Clippers.”
“Don’t mess with happy,” Friedell concluded, reminding Westbrook that he finally has a team he seems comfortable with and a roster that respects and wants him.

When the season ended, the Clippers said they wanted to re-sign Westbrook.
They said keeping him on the roster was one of their top priorities for the summer.
Of course, this decision will ultimately be up to Westbrook.
If he decides to stick around with the Clippers, he might be one of the only stars who does.
There is a lot of speculation about the team cleaning house this summer and possibly parting ways with stars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.
It’s not clear who they would get in return for those two so Westbrook could become the team’s de facto leader.
Is that a role he would want to take on?
Westbrook started to surge with the Clippers because so much of the pressure he faced with the Lakers was gone.
He was able to accept and embrace his role and flourished because of it.
Will he keep flourishing with the team next season or will he decide that he wants to take his talents elsewhere?
