The Oklahoma City Thunder snuck by the New York Knicks on Sunday night and Jalen Williams was a huge part of the team’s victory.

He scored 33 points and 8 assists in the 113-112 win in Madison Square Garden.

After this explosive game, Bill Simmons and Ryen Russillo spoke about Williams’ potential and where he could be headed.

“There’s a lot of Kawhi when I watch Jalen Williams,” Simmons said, claiming that the Thunder star is already as talented as Leonard was, offensively, during the second year of his career.

During his rookie season, Williams averaged 14.1 points and 3.3 assists per game.

This year, he is putting up 19.5 points and 4.6 assists while both his field goal and three-point percentages have ticked up a lot too.

Williams was very close to winning Rookie of the Year last season and now he’s only gotten better in his second season.

Being compared to someone as talented as Leonard is obviously a huge honor, but will Williams’ Thunder have a strong postseason run like Leonard’s San Antonio Spurs did during his second year?

They are currently the top team in the West but there are still many questions about how far they can go.

Because the players are so young and they have a lack of experience in the postseason, there are concerns about how competitive they will be.

But it’s clear that Williams and the rest of the roster are ready to play as hard as possible and make a huge statement.

The Thunder have been on the rise for years now, putting together a strong lineup including Williams.

Now it is time for them to see what they can do in the playoffs.
