Tyler Lockett has been one of the most underappreciated wide receivers of his generation, as the longtime Seattle Seahawk has done nothing but consistently stay on the field and put up big numbers.
The nine-year veteran has never played fewer than 15 games in a season and has 7,994 yards and 59 receiving touchdowns under his belt at this point in his career.
It would be flattering for any prospect to be compared to Lockett, and that’s exactly the guy analyst Emory Hunt of Football Gameplan has in mind when he thinks about Georgia prospect Ladd McConkey
“He can catch, he’s explosive, he knows how to stack and track which I’m a big fan of, so you can even make a case for him to be a Z if you want to,” Hunt said about McConkey.

Hunt said that many media members have scratched and clawed to “try to find a white guy to compare him to” while the Lockett comparison makes a lot more sense due to both players finding ways to get open deep down the field consistently.
McConkey’s draft stock at the moment is a little unclear, as this is an extremely deep wide receiver class, but McConkey flashed his speed with a 4.39 40-yard dash at the Combine in an effort to move himself up the draft board a bit.
McConkey is a two-time National Champion at Georgia and never put up huge numbers despite being such a pivotal member of a crowded offense.
If Hunt is right, some team is going to be really happy making him a Day 2 or Day 3 pick in April, just like Lockett was.
