The Detroit Lions have started to prove that they have turned their organization around.
Their 10-4 record makes them one of the top teams in the NFC, and they are close to locking in their first-ever NFC North title.
While there have been many contributing factors to their success, Steve Palazzolo recently highlighted Jahmyr Gibbs as a big reason for their increased levels of play.
In the PFF NFL Podcast, Palazzolo talked about a turning point for the Lions: they started to utilize Gibbs more.
“If we just give this guy touches, he’ll make plays,” Palazzolo said.

He believes Gibbs was well worthy of a first-round draft selection and should be a massive part of the Lions’ plans.
The Lions have taken a measured approach to the running back position this season, utilizing David Montgomery and Gibbs in a split role.
While Palazzolo is a fan of this approach, he ultimately believes that Gibbs is the better back.
Dan Campbell’s regime seemed hesitant to make Gibbs a feature early in the year, but he is now fully unlocked.
Gibbs’ emergence as the feature back has done wonders for the Lions’ offense, allowing Jared Goff to maximize efficiency as a passer.
Goff threw five touchdown passes in the Lions’ win over the Denver Broncos, a sign of Gibbs’ assistance in the run game.
While this isn’t necessarily a sign of what is to come every week, it is a step in the right direction for the Lions.
They will move forward confidently for the rest of the season, hoping this production can continue into the postseason.
