One would think that, given the kind of NBA career he’s had, Jerami Grant would have a more realistic idea of his actual value in the league.
He left the Denver Nuggets because he wanted a bigger role as a primary scorer and then failed to live up to that status with the struggling Detroit Pistons.
He later joined the Portland Trail Blazers, and while he did make an impact on the defensive end of the floor, he once again fell short of his own expectations.
However, despite all that, Mike Scotto of HoopsHype (via NBACentral) reports that he’s looking forward to signing a five-year deal worth $150 million to stay with the Trail Blazers.
Jerami Grant could seek a 5 year – $150M contract from Portland, per @MikeAScotto

Scotto adds that several teams with cap space — including the Pistons, ironically — could be willing to meet his steep salary demands.
Truth be told, it’s hard to envision the Blazers winning any time soon if they commit that much money to him, given Damian Lillard’s massive paycheck as well.
Grant is a very good role player who could make a tremendous impact on a contending team, similar to what Aaron Gordon did in Denver.
But he’s nowhere near the $30 million a year stratosphere right now, and one would expect that he’s in for a tough reality check if those are, indeed, his expectations.
The new CBA will make it very difficult for contending teams to have multiple guys on big contracts, so don’t expect Grant to play for a contender if he wants to get paid that much.
