Analyst Details Why NBA Suspended Draymond Green Indefinitely

After another on-court altercation this season, the NBA chose to suspend veteran Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green indefinitely for his actions, which was a surprising move by the league.

Earlier in the 2023-24 campaign, the league suspended Green for five games for getting Minnesota Timberwolves star Rudy Gobert in a headlock during an on-court altercation that got way out of control due to Green’s insistence on getting involved in a scuffle between Klay Thompson and Jaden McDaniels.

With the league really laying down the law on Green after yet another incident, a lot of people have started to chime in on whether the punishment was too harsh or right on point, with the Warriors star needing to change his behavior while on the basketball floor.

Monte Poole of NBC Sports recently made an appearance on Steiny and Guru on 95.7 The Game to talk about the Green situation and why the league decided to punish the four-time NBA champion the way they did, via 95.7 The Game on Twitter.

As Poole puts it, the league is making an example of Green and Memphis Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant because the NBA doesn’t want an image problem moving forward with the NBA TV contract ending after this season.

With Green being seemingly out of control on the court on a nightly basis and not taking the league seriously when he is suspended, the NBA felt it was time for a change in order to avoid an incident that might get out of hand.
