Damian Lillard requested a trade from the Portland Trail Blazers nearly two weeks ago and yet he has still not been moved.
Allegedly Lillard wants to be traded to the Miami Heat.
He is adamant about going there and nowhere else.
But so far both sides have not seen eye-to-eye about a deal.
Analyst Craig Carton doesn’t think they’ll ever agree on the right terms and believes this trade isn’t going anywhere.
“Unless Portland caves or Miami does something stupid – which, by the way, is not what Pat Riley does – this is not getting done,” Carton said on Tuesday about Lillard heading to South Beach.
“You have to find another team willing to be stupid,” he added.

Carton noted what many others have: the Heat don’t have the sort of players that will make this trade worthwhile for the Blazers.
Actually, they do have them, they just aren’t willing to give them up.
The Blazers would be willing to discuss a trade that involves Bam Adebayo.
But the Heat have made it clear that he’s untouchable.
Meanwhile, Miami would be willing to give up Tyler Herro, according to reports.
But that wouldn’t be enough to move the needle for Portland’s front office.
This is why Carton believes a third team will have to jump into the fray and move some pieces around to make this a reality.
So far, no team has emerged.
There is a growing chance that this situation never develops beyond just conversations and that Lillard is stuck in Portland.
If that happens, he could maybe move in a few months at the trade deadline, like Kevin Durant did last season.
Or there is a chance that Miami, Portland, and a third team hash out a deal that makes all sides happy.
But right now, it’s not even remotely clear what that deal would look like.
