The season is on the line for the Miami Heat on Monday night, heading into Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the Denver Nuggets, with Jimmy Butler and company needing to play their best basketball in order to keep their hopes alive of winning a title.

Fortunately for Miami, the Heat might get a boost offensively on Monday night, with sharpshooter Tyler Herro potentially returning to the floor after missing a considerable amount of time due to a hand injury suffered in the first round against the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Heat didn’t need Herro to get where they are in the postseason but could use him against the Nuggets, who have proven to be the better team in this series.

ESPN’s Zach Lowe believes the Heat should have Herro on a short leash in Game 5, as a bad game from him could prove to be the difference between winning and losing for Miami via NBA on ESPN.

The real question is whether Herro is genuinely healthy and able to contribute in a win-or-go-home scenario on the road in the Finals.

If he’s not healthy enough to contribute, he shouldn’t be on the floor and should have a short leash, as Lowe suggests, which may ultimately be what head coach Erik Spoelstra does on Monday night in Denver.

It’ll be interesting to see how things unfold for the Heat, as they’ll have to step up their game in order to hold off the red-hot Nuggets, who seem determined to end this series tonight.
