The New England Patriots began their season with a slower start than they anticipated.

They were 1-5 heading into their Week 7 matchup with the Buffalo Bills, a game in which they were major underdogs.

In surprising fashion for many fans, the Patriots ended up winning this game, upsetting the Bills in New England.

While many fans were shocked by this result, Boston-based reporter Tom E Curran recently indicated an alternative viewpoint.

This win “validates Mac Jones, it validates that this offensive line can protect if it gets together,” Curran said.

My Slant: The Patriots win over the Bills proved they were who I thought they were!

Jones entered the season with a lot of questions about his ability to lead this team, questions that continued for the first several weeks of the season.

For Curran, who covers the team, these questions were more than answered with a win over the Bills.

He was also very complimentary of the Patriots’ offensive line, which hasn’t protected Jones well lately.

When all aspects of the Patriots’ roster are running smoothly, as Curran mentions, this is a team to watch for in the AFC.

With all of Curran’s optimism in mind, the Patriots might have to wait until next season to prove him correct.

At 2-5, the Patriots’ path to the playoffs is nearly impossible.

They are currently in last place in their division and have a difficult upcoming schedule.

Even though the Patriots are a historically dominant team, mainly during the Tom Brady era, recovering from a deficit of this magnitude is likely insurmountable.

How will the Patriots’ roster rally after this unforeseen win over the Bills?
