The San Francisco 49ers had been looking for a star quarterback since Colin Kaepernick left, and they finally found one.
Brock Purdy looks like the real deal, and while some are still hesitant to give him his flowers, his numbers and performances have actually been remarkable.
That’s why former NFL player Willie Colon said on “The Carton Show” that Purdy is currently the best quarterback in the NFC.
And while some of the other panelists didn’t seem to agree with that statement, Colon explained that Purdy has been so good that people don’t even seem to remember that he was Mr. Irrelevant anymore.
He stated that the fact that he came off a UCL injury and still managed to take over Trey Lance and Sam Darnold is even more impressive, and he’s still undefeated in the regular season and did a great job against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
“Brock Purdy’s been playing so well you forget that he was Mr. Irrelevant.”

Purdy has been very solid; there’s no doubt about that.
He handles himself like a pro and has looked poised and ready from day one, not to mention the fact that the offense has looked much better with him under center.
Even so, it’s kind of hard to see him as the best quarterback in the NFC right now, granted that there’s also Jalen Hurts, Geno Smith, and Matthew Stafford, but he may not be that far off either.
Most of the elite quarterbacks actually play in the AFC, and you can’t argue with Purdy’s numbers, so maybe Colon is actually right about this blazing-hot take.
