The Dallas Cowboys find themselves in a precarious place ahead of the 2023 season.
They have a lot of decisions to make in the next several years, many of which will depend on the upcoming year.
One of those decisions revolves around Dak Prescott, whose contract is slated to expire in 2025.
In a recent segment of “The Carton Show,” Craig Carton gave his opinion on the situation.
“If they have another year where they don’t advance past the Divisional round, I’m not giving Dak Prescott another $100+ million contract,” Carton said.
Is the window closing for Dak Prescott and the Cowboys to win a Super Bowl?

Prescott’s current contract is a four-year, $160 million deal.
His career got off to a hot start, as many believed he would be the answer at quarterback that the Cowboys have been searching for.
But, seven seasons and zero Super Bowls later, Prescott hasn’t been able to lead the Cowboys to the promised land.
They have made it to the Divisional round twice during Prescott’s tenure, but no further.
As Carton suggests, with other elite players on the roster to pay, it could be the perfect time to not re-up Prescott’s contract, and perhaps, move on.
He mentions several players, including CeeDee Lamb, Trevon Diggs, and Zack Martin, as well as the possibility of extending Micah Parsons.
With all of those options on the table, the Cowboys will have their work cut out for them in terms of decision-making.
Can Prescott redeem himself this season, turning in a performance that will force the Cowboys to keep him around?
That is largely contingent on their playoff success.
