For decades, NBA fans have debated and discussed about the greatest players in the history of the league.

From Bill Russell to Wilt Chamberlain in the early stages, to Dr. J, all the way to modern days.

But recently, the debate has been set between two major forces: Michael Jordan and LeBron James.

However, if you were to ask NBA analyst Jason Timpf of The Volume, there shouldn’t even be a debate, as Jordan should be considered the undisputed GOAT.

“No player in the history of basketball has dominated the league the way he did”

Timpf recently explained that on top of Jordan’s six championships in an eight-year span — which could be considered a six-year span if you take into account that he had retired from the NBA — he dominated the league like no one else before or after him.

The analyst points out that it was insulting to even consider someone to be on the same level as Jordan in the 90s.

There was Jordan in a tier of his own, a huge gap, and then other stars like Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, David Robinson, and the rest of the league.

As for LeBron, while he was the consensus best player on Earth during a 2-3 year stretch between 2011-13, the gap closed significantly shortly after.

One could make a case for multiple players like Stephen Curry or Kevin Durant being on the same tier as LeBron, even if he was slightly above them; that never happened with Jordan.
