Putting together an all-time NBA starting five could be a complicated task.

The league has seen so many talented players in its 70+ years of existence that the combinations could be pretty much infinite.

Nonetheless, one could argue that there’s a handful of names that should be a part of every list or at least most of them.

Recently, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry made the rounds for sharing his lineup, going with Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, and Shaquille O’Neal.

Surprised Steph left LeBron off his All-Time starting 5 (Shaq, Duncan, Kobe, Jordan, Magic)?@Chris_Broussard: Steph is competing.@getnickwright: It’s just a bad list. Kobe is not a small forward. pic.twitter.com/cDy3Rlp8Te

Notably, he didn’t choose himself, yet people have also taken notice of the fact that he didn’t pick LeBron James either.

According to sports analyst Chris Broussard, Steph took a page out of Kobe’s and Jordan’s book, as he’s not going to give props to a competitor.

Per Broussard, he’s taking shots because he knows he and LeBron are still competing against each other, so — even though he does know he’s great — he’s not going to praise his greatness.

Per Nick Wright, Curry just did a bad list, citing that Kobe Bryant isn’t a small forward.

Little does Wright know that Kobe actually played 66 games listed at the SF position and 19% of his minutes as a small forward as well.

Steph knew exactly what he was doing by snubbing LeBron, but he’s also entitled to his opinion, and chances are that’s exactly how he actually feels about that.

As great as James is, Steph doesn’t have the obligation to include him, and it doesn’t have to be a knock on his greatness.
