The 2023-24 NBA season is right around the corner and things remain tense and awkward around the Philadelphia 76ers organization.
All offseason, the 76ers have been at the forefront of the NBA news and rumor mill as they continue to deal with the James Harden situation.
Harden has been adamant for the past few months that he wants to be traded to the Los Angeles Clippers, but so far Daryl Morey has been resistant to the idea because he has yet to receive the package of assets he wants for the star guard.
Morey is a shrewd executive who is happy to hold out for the best deal possible, even in an uncomfortable standoff with Harden.
The Clippers, meanwhile, have reportedly made offers to the 76ers though it seems as though they aren’t budging on keeping Terence Mann out of any trade packages via Jake Fischer of Yahoo.
It’s ‘increasingly likely’ James Harden will be on the Sixers’ roster on opening night, per @JakeLFischer

Mann is one of the few talented young players Los Angeles has on the roster and is seen as a key piece for the franchise going forward.
While Harden could very well give the Clippers their best shot at winning a title, it feels like they think they have enough to compete even without the former MVP.
The trade market for Harden doesn’t seem very robust and the two sides could choose to revisit negotiations come the trade deadline.
Philadelphia is still considered to be a threat in the Eastern Conference, though most are projecting them to not have Harden by the end of the year.
