Stephen Curry entered the NBA as the seventh overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft.

Initially, many questioned the Golden State Warriors’ decision to draft an injury-prone guard, but Curry proved his doubters wrong after having a long and successful career in the NBA.

Over the course of his career, Curry has won everything a player in the league could want, including four NBA Championships.

As a result, Curry has earned himself a spot in the debate for the greatest point guard of all time.

Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal recently suggested that it’s time to put Curry in the debate for the greatest basketball player of all time, but NBA analyst Kevin Wildes rejected the notion on Twitter.

“I’m wondering is it time to start putting him as the best player of all time,” O’Neal said.

Wildes had a simple yet effective three-word response to it.

When it comes to the GOAT debate, Michael Jordan and LeBron James are the two most prominent names.

However, when we take Curry’s contributions to the NBA into consideration, he certainly has the accolades to be considered one of the top-10 best players in the history of the league, if not the best.

A key reason behind Curry’s name getting skipped in such debates is the fact that he was part of the Warriors dynasty that had Kevin Durant.

If Curry can win another NBA Championship like he did in 2022, then he could arguably earn a spot in the GOAT debate.

But until then, as good as Curry has been during his NBA career, he may never surpass LeBron James and Michael Jordan to become the GOAT.
