Star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has put the San Francisco 49ers on notice after recently requesting a trade from the team due to both sides not being able to agree on a long-term extension.
Now, this doesn’t mean that Aiyuk will for sure get traded as both sides could still work something out.
Fox Sports’s Craig Carton recently gave his take on what he thinks Aiyuk should do.
“This is a team that’s ready to win a Super Bowl…Why would you wanna go to Washington…when you could play for a team that you can win a championship with?” Carton asked on The Carton Show.

This is a very fair and accurate take from Carton because the reality of the situation is that the 49ers and Commanders are on opposite sides of the chart.
The 49ers have dominated the NFC for the last handful of years and have made the Super Bowl twice in the last half-decade.
They have arguably the best roster and are primed for yet another Super Bowl run this upcoming season.
The Commanders are trying to build themselves into a winning team.
Dan Quinn is entering his first season in Washington, along with rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels.
This is a franchise that has made the playoffs just once in eight years and that hasn’t won a playoff game since 2005.
Aiyuk is worth more than $14 million per year, but it could be tough to see him try to find the same team success that he has out in San Francisco.
