The San Francisco 49ers have excelled this season, but they’re going to have one of the toughest challenges of the campaign ahead of them.

Monday night’s clash with the Baltimore Ravens could be a Super Bowl preview, and losing that game could leave the door wide open for the Dallas Cowboys or Philadelphia Eagles to take the No. 1 seed from them.

Fortunately for them, they have an elite playmaker on the defensive side of the field ready to help their cause, at least, according to NFL analyst Brian Baldinger.

Talking on the NFL Network with Steve Wyche and James Palmer, Baldinger raved about CB Charvarius Ward, pointing out the fact that he currently leads the league in passes defended and is coming off a two-interception game.

From THE NFL REPORT: @BaldyNFL details an Ace the 49ers hold that could prove huge vs. the Ravens Monday, and also through their postseason run . To watch entire episode on YouTube: https://t.co/kkBvN4LEdJ; the podcast: https://t.co/QFtFGIgMOd pic.twitter.com/FKgCRrTrzt

Baldinger stated that he’s got the length and the wingspan to go against some of the biggest and most physical wide receivers in the game, and he’s looked quite confident regardless of the defensive assignment.

He called him a “difference-maker” and someone who could have a massive impact against the Ravens and their plethora of talented pass-catchers.

The craziest part about this is that Ward often gets overlooked because of the Niners’ never-ending pool of talent on both sides of the field, so he doesn’t get the credit and recognition he would’ve gotten if he had played somewhere else.

Now, he’ll have a perfect opportunity to put the world on notice by shutting down the Ravens’ passing game in what could be the biggest game of the regular season.
