This NFL Draft class was one of the most stacked with talent at quarterback we’ve seen in years.
At least on paper, we have several potential franchise players.
Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, and Drake Maye went with the first three picks.
Then, we had J.J. McCarthy, Michael Penix Jr., and Bo Nix go later in the first round.
Ironically, of all of them, the guy who went last might be the best choice to win NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year next season.
At least, that’s how NFL analyst John Middlekauff feels (via The Volume).
“From a value standpoint, I don’t even think it’s debatable… you got to drizzle money on that guy”

Talking on his 3-and-Out podcast, he made a case for Nix being the best choice from a value perspective.
While Williams and Daniels are the odds-on favorites and clearly the most talented quarterbacks in the class, he’s loved what he’s seen from Nix thus far.
Nix is 14-1 to win the award, all despite having one of the greatest play-callers and offense designers the National Football League has ever seen.
So, while Middlekauff won’t rush to say that Nix might be a Hall of Famer or a future MVP, he believes he’s in a prime position to win Offensive Rookie of the Year, and those 14-1 odds could translate into big profits for those who back him up.
Sean Payton has yet to announce Nix as his starting quarterback, but it seems like a formality at this point.
He’s a much better choice than Jarrett Stidham and Zach Wilson, and those odds might shift drastically once he’s officially penciled in as the starter.
