Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves had another amazing game on Sunday night, scoring 40 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists.
His great performance didn’t just lead to another win for the T-Wolves; it also led to the elimination of the Phoenix Suns in the opening round of the playoffs.
On Monday’s “The Carton Show,” analyst Craig Carton was very impressed by what he’s seen from Edwards.
“Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is a top-five player in the NBA, and you might wanna say top three,” Carton said.

It’s not clear who the other four players on Carton’s list are but it’s hard to argue with his assertion of Edwards’ greatness.
In 2023-24, Edwards posted 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game, scoring a red-hot 46.1% from the field.
He has been sensational since the start of the season, silencing critics who claimed he didn’t have what it takes to lead a team, especially in the playoffs.
Now the Timberwolves have won their first-round series by way of a sweep, which is a huge feat for this up-and-coming team.
Edwards has been on the rise for years, but this season was his best yet, and he showed a lot of progress across the board.
He is definitely in the conversation as one of the best players in the NBA.
Now that he has helped his team dominate the Suns, it is time to see what they can do in the second round.
The T-Wolves will have to face the winner of the Denver Nuggets-Los Angeles Lakers series.
This will prove an even bigger challenge for the Timberwolves and Edwards.
But he has shown that he can handle any type of challenge and that is what makes him so powerful.
