For the first time since 1993, the Cleveland Cavaliers have won a playoff series without LeBron James.

Notably, the Cavs have had some stars on their non-LeBron teams, including a young Kyrie Irving.

Now, they have someone who may not be as talented as Irving but who had a better supporting cast.

Donovan Mitchell was a man on a mission in Game 7 vs. the Orlando Magic, putting the team on his shoulders to orchestrate a big second-half comeback, scoring 39 points on 27 shots.

That’s why Aaron Goldhammer of ESPN Cleveland took to social media to claim that Mitchell might be the second-greatest Cav of all time.

He believes that even though this might be the end of the line for the team and that he won’t get a statue or a street named after him because of this, he still had one of the most memorable postseason performances in franchise history, and the fans will always cherish him for that.

The part of the second-best Cavalier ever could be a bit of a reach, but he was on a roll in the past two games.

Goldhammer also stated that the Cavaliers don’t have anything to lose against the top-ranked Boston Celtics.

The Celtics won’t be an easy opponent, but the Cavaliers have matched up nicely against them lately, and Joe Mazzulla’s team has underperformed in the playoffs dating back to last season.
