Analyst Makes A Bold Claim About Kyrie Irving

The Dallas Mavericks are looking like a legitimate NBA championship contender right now.

They’ve won 14 of their last 16 games, and they’ve climbed all the way to the No. 5 spot in the Western Conference.

Judging by their schedule, it wouldn’t be shocking to see them leapfrog the Los Angeles Clippers for No. 4.

And even if that’s not the case, they know the Clippers pretty well, and they could find success against them in the first round of the playoffs.

Needless to say, Luka Doncic has stolen most of the headlines this season and rightfully so, as he’s the league’s leading scorer and is almost averaging a triple-double.

Then again, Craig Carton believes that Kyrie Irving could be an even bigger factor in this team’s success.

He believes that Kyrie is one of the top five greatest guards in NBA history.

“Kyrie Irving is one of the five greatest guards to ever play the sport of basketball,” Carton said.

Talent-wise, he might be onto something.

Other than that, it would be hard to put Kyrie up there with the likes of, say, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, Stephen Curry, and many others.

Kyrie has the greatest handles of all time, and his footwork is a beauty to watch.

When he’s focused on basketball and available, he’s virtually unstoppable.

Still, perhaps this is a bit of a stretch, even if you definitely don’t want to watch him on the other end of the floor in the postseason.
