The Denver Nuggets have the best player on Earth right now.

As much talent as there is in today’s NBA, Nikola Jokic has separated himself from the rest of the pack.

No team in the league has a legitimate counter for him, and there’s simply no way to contain him on offense.

That’s why, following his dominant performance to come back from a 20-point deficit to beat the Los Angeles Lakers, NBA analyst Jay Williams proposed an interesting debate.

Talking on ESPN’s Get Up, he questioned whether it was time to talk about Jokic as the most skilled big man this game has ever seen.

“Is it fair to say now … that we are looking at potentially the greatest, skilled center to ever play the game of basketball?” Williams said.

Of course, we’ve seen some dominant and very talented guys play center.

Hakeem Olajuwon set the blueprint for what footwork should look like, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s sky hook was the most unstoppable shot in basketball in his prime.

Then again, it’s not that far-fetched to include Jokic in this conversation.

He’s not always graceful, but he’s a three-level scorer at the center position.

On top of that, he’s the best passing big man this game has ever seen, being a nightly triple-double threat and a top-notch playmaker.

He’s not just a good passer for a big; he’s one of the best passers and shot-creators in the game.

Period.

Jokic is going to win his third MVP in just four years, and he’s already put together a Hall of Fame-kind of résumé.

As much as old-school fans might not want to hear it and while that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s the best, he’s, in fact, one of the most — if not the most — skilled centers ever.
