The New York Jets were already a very good, much-improved team last season.
But they were young and didn’t have a true starting-caliber quarterback, which is the only reason why they failed to make the playoffs in 2022.
So, now that they’ve solved that issue by trading for the one and only Aaron Rodgers, NFL analyst Craig Carton believes the pressure is on Robert Saleh to get the job done once and for all.

Carton has often reaffirmed his faith and confidence in this new-look Jets team, but he also says that Saleh and even the GM could be fired if they don’t make the playoffs, adding that they’ll have quite a tough schedule next season.
Moreover, Carton also said that he doesn’t think just making the playoffs is going to be enough, as they should at least win a postseason game for the first time in more than a decade, given the kind of roster they have right now.
Truth be told, there’s simply no excuse for the Jets not at least to make the playoffs.
They have a stacked roster on both sides of the field, a solid coach, and a GM who’s fully committed to spending and making moves to do whatever it takes to get this team to the next level.
Saleh may not be on the hot seat to enter the season, but he, his team, and most definitely Rodgers will all be in the spotlight from the very first snap of the upcoming season.
