The Phoenix Suns are in a bit of a tough spot right now.
While they wouldn’t be the first team to come back from a 0-2 deficit, and even though they’ve found regular-season success vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves, that’s definitely not how you want to start the playoffs.
Their offense has looked stagnant and out of sync at times, with Devin Booker struggling with consistency and Bradley Beal not being aggressive enough.
The Suns clearly need a traditional, pass-first kind of point guard, and even if they manage to get past the Timberwolves’ stout defense out of talent alone, that might be the end of the line for them in the playoffs.
That’s why sports analyst Craig Carton wouldn’t be shocked if this were to be Durant’s final dance with the Suns.
Talking on The Carton Show, he argued that the Suns aren’t properly built, and Durant would be better off somewhere else, citing the New York Knicks or Oklahoma City Thunder as potential destinations, as they both have a flurry of draft picks to trade.
“Kevin Durant is not a Sun after this year,” Carton said.

Needless to say, another move would only hamper Durant’s legacy even more, although he would be just what the Knicks need to get back to the NBA Finals.
On the other hand, going full circle and heading back to the Thunder would perhaps be the best way to end his career and maybe even salvage his legacy.
Durant is an unpredictable player who doesn’t like to lose, and he’s been non-commitant about his future in Phoenix. so it’ll be interesting to see how this situation unfolds.
