Even though the NFL preseason hasn’t even started, we’ve seen more than enough from the offseason moves to know — or already make picks — about the teams that are likely to be in the mix for a playoff berth next season.
Trades, drafted players, and signings — both from players and staff members — will obviously have a major impact on the league’s picture next season, especially in the AFC, as there aren’t that many legit candidates in the NFC right now.
With that in mind, NFL analyst Craig Carton went ahead and made his prediction for the upcoming AFC Championship Game, choosing the Baltimore Ravens to go against the New York Jets.
“I think we’re looking at a Jets vs. Ravens AFC championship game.”

Truth be told, it’s not far-fetched to think that this might be the AFC Championship Game matchup we could get months away from now.
The Ravens finally have a new offensive coordinator, and he’s heavily expected to build the offense around Lamar Jackson’s skills instead of being one-dimensional with the running game.
Also, they finally have some legit weapons in the passing game for the first time since Jackson took over.
As for the Jets, they were already a force to reckon with on the defensive side of the field last season, and adding Aaron Rodgers obviously made them a legit Super Bowl candidate.
Anything can still happen, and we’ve seen teams that were promising on paper crumble under pressure way too many times in league history already, but it wouldn’t be shocking if Carton’s prophecy came true.
