The 2023 NFL Draft is loaded with quarterback prospects.

Several teams across the league need the position, and they could all be in play to take a quarterback in the early rounds.

During the pre-draft process, many fans and analysts identified the upper echelon of prospects.

However, recent comments from NFL analyst Robert Turbin revealed a contrarian argument.

“Hendon Hooker is the second-best quarterback in the draft,” said Turbin.

Hooker was a two-year starter at the University of Tennessee and was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Year in 2022.

Despite the excellence of his final collegiate season, Hooker’s name hasn’t been consistently mentioned among the other top quarterbacks in the class.

As Turbin indicates, Hooker is seriously undervalued as a result.

Other analysts have as many as four quarterbacks ahead of Hooker, including Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud, Will Levis, and Anthony Richardson.

When talking about Hooker, Turbin says, “He’s even better than C.J. Stroud,” who is seen by many as the first or second-best quarterback in the class.

When talking with the other analysts on the show, Turbin also asked, “Are we paying attention to what he did in the college football season?”

Hooker finished the 2022 collegiate season with 3,135 yards, 27 touchdowns, and just two interceptions en route to his impressive accolade.

If he can get close to that level of production in the NFL, maybe Turbin’s comments have some merit.

With the draft soon approaching, NFL fans will find out what teams think of Hooker along with the other quarterbacks in this class.
