The Pittsburgh Steelers closed out the season on a very high note, with rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett looking the part, and HC Mike Tomlin managing to salvage his not-losing-season streak alive.
Of course, a lot of that had to do with T.J. Watt’s return and how dominant their defense was again last season, but their offense should also get some credit.
Moreover, the Steelers should fare much better on that side of the field in 2023, even though some people don’t seem to see them as an actual offensive threat.
With that in mind, NFL analyst Greg Cosell said on the Ross Tucker Podcast that there could be a big shift in their running back dynamics.
“Jaylen Warren gives them a lot more juice at RB than Najee Harris…I don’t think you’ll see Harris getting 275, 280 carries…”@GregCosell explains why he thinks the days of Najee being the foundation of the Steelers offense are over on the @RossTuckerPod: pic.twitter.com/ziYSrd5uvT

Apparently, their lead back would be Jaylen Warren and not Najee Harris, with Cossell believing he brings more ‘juice’ and versatility to the table.
Warren is a better pass-catcher and a more dynamic back than Harris, who has struggled with inefficiency and inconsistency since he first entered the league.
Cossell claims that Harris will still have a big role in the Steelers offense, but he just doesn’t see him having 270+ carries, as opposed to Warren.
Even so, the Steelers figure to have a more balanced offense next season.
With Pickett drawing several rave reviews from training camp, some expect him to be one of the most improved players in the league in 2023, and they could spread the field with the passing game more often than they’ve done over the past couple of years.
