Analyst Makes A Surprising Claim About The Knicks

The New York Knicks recently made two key moves ahead of this week’s NBA Draft.

They signed free agent forward and All-NBA defender OG Anunoby to a five-year deal worth $212.5 million.

Additionally, they traded for another All-NBA defender in Mikal Bridges.

These moves were made to allow the Knicks to presumably challenge the champion Celtics.

While plenty of people now believe that New York is a championship contender, Fox Sports analyst and Basketball Hall of Fame player Tim Hardaway Sr. believes they are not there yet.

“They are not contenders right now. They are going to contend for the Eastern Conference but not for the NBA Finals,” Hardaway Sr. recently said on The Carton Show.

It is certainly up for debate.

These are some good moves that the Knicks have made.

All-Star guard Jalen Brunson will now be playing with three of his old teammates from his Villanova days in Josh Hart, Donte DiVincenzo and Bridges.

The Knicks also have other quality role players in All-Star power forward Julius Randle and former champion OG Anunoby.

With Tom Thibodeau leading the way as head coach and after coming off of their first 50-win season in over a decade, this team is on the rise.

Now, can they beat the Boston Celtics with this roster as things stand?

It seems unlikely given what the Celtics just did this postseason by winning their 18th championship thanks to their two All-NBA stars in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

But, New York is hot on their heels and now possesses a better defense.

They might not be on the Celtics’ level just yet, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t on the come-up.
