The Aaron Rodgers era with the New York Jets is almost underway.
Expectations are at an all-time high within the organization, as it feels like they have a legit Super Bowl-contending team for the first time in ages.
Nonetheless, that also puts a lot of pressure on the future Hall of Famer.
According to analyst Ric Bucher, he’s facing a much more complicated situation than Tom Brady when he joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Bucher explains that Rodgers was the league’s MVP just two seasons ago, so it’s not like he’s a player on the decline riding into the sunset.
He talked about his aura and how much he could elevate a team, so failing to get the job done in New York could put a dent in his legacy, the same way winning a ring in Tampa Bay only strengthened Brady’s reputation.
Truth be told, this isn’t that far-fetched to think, as there has been a lot of talk about Rodgers’ personality and character, not to mention the fact that he’s only made it to one Super Bowl despite being a perennial MVP candidate.
Rodgers didn’t leave the Green Bay Packers on good terms, and winning a ring somewhere else would pretty much make them look bad.
Failing to do it, however, could all but make people think that he had been a byproduct of his franchise all along.
That’s obviously far from the case, but that’s just how narratives work in today’s ruthless business, especially with social media.
