Just when most people thought Bill Belichick would become the next coach of the Atlanta Falcons, they decided to go with Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris.
Morris also had some head coaching experience and did an impressive job as an assistant, but his résumé doesn’t compare to Belichick’s.
The former New England Patriots legend had only interviewed for that head coaching position and there are no reports about any of the other teams still looking for a coach — the Seattle Seahawks and Washington Commanders — being interested in his services.
With that in mind, NFL analyst Craig Carton predicted that Belichick could become Andy Reid’s successor at Kansas City.
“I think Bill Belichick will be the next head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs next year. I think that’s where he goes after Andy Reid retires after this year,” Carton said.

Talking on The Carton Show, Carton claimed that there’s some smoke about coach Reid potentially calling it quits after this season, adding that Belichick will then take the reins of the team for next season.
He also stated that the only reason he wasn’t hired by the Falcons is that some executives feared that they could be out of a job if he arrived in town, which is why they convinced owner Arthur Blank to go in a different direction.
Truth be told, Belichick has done more than enough to get a new job.
His ways and schemes might be outdated, but his mind definitely isn’t.
And while his legacy has seemed to take a bit of a hit because of his post-Tom Brady struggles, it’s still kind of mind-boggling to see the lack of interest in his services.
