The New York Jets’ playoff chances took a massive blow last night.
Just one drive into their highly-anticipated season, Aaron Rodgers fell with an injury and wasn’t able to come back.
All signs point towards him being out for the season with an Achilles injury, and they had no choice but to turn back to Zach Wilson.
The Jets’ defense was able to keep Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills in check, and Breece Hall showed no signs of rust whatsoever.
Robert Saleh’s team was able to get a big and very emotional win over a divisional rival, even without their best player.
That’s why diehard Jets fan and sports analyst Craig Carton went on record on his show to guarantee that the Jets will still make the playoffs with Zach Wilson as their starting quarterback, although he did admit that it will obviously be much more difficult.

Wilson wasn’t exactly impressive, which is no surprise at this point.
Still, he didn’t look that bad either, completing 14 of 21 passes for 140 yards, one touchdown, and one pick.
His lone touchdown pass was more due to a spectacular grab by star WR Garrett Wilson than anything else.
Wilson had interesting potential when he entered the league but has struggled.
Still, perhaps Rodgers’ mentorship and another year to develop will help him fulfill the expectations and be the guy his team needs after all.
