Aaron Rodgers has made it abundantly clear that he intends to return to play for the New York Jets this season.
While an Achilles tear is typically a death sentence for athletes, Rodgers believes his recovery process will help him beat the odds.
This confidence has caught the attention of many analysts, including Craig Carton.
After Rodgers’ appearance on the Pat McAfee Show where he talked about being ahead of schedule, Carton made sure to make his feelings known.
“The notion that Aaron Rodgers is coming back anytime soon or even this year is something that we get a little crazy about,” Carton said.
“The notion that Aaron Rodgers is coming back anytime soon or even this year is something that we get a little crazy about. Zach Wilson is the Jets quarterback, at least, for the next couple of months.”

He also said, “Zach Wilson is the Jets quarterback, at least for the next couple of months.”
Carton doesn’t seem to buy into the fact that Rodgers can return this season.
This would be an unprecedented timeline for an Achilles tear, especially for an athlete Rodgers’ age.
At 39 years old, it seems unlikely that Rodgers sees the field in 2023, as Carton and many other analysts point out.
Even if Rodgers is cleared to play, it might be too late in the season for him to make a meaningful impact.
The Jets currently have a 3-3 record and are in third place in the AFC East.
However, their next three games are against the New York Giants, Los Angeles Chargers, and Las Vegas Raiders.
After beating the Philadelphia Eagles in unsuspecting fashion, the Jets will look to these opponents with bright eyes, hoping to get their record over .500.
Can they do enough to put themselves into playoff contention for a potential Rodgers return?
