The New Orleans Pelicans drafted Zion Williamson with the number one overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.
At the time, Williamson was viewed as the next big thing in the league and someone who could change the future of any team that drafted him.
However, as time has passed, Williamson hasn’t played even a single full season for the Pelicans, and the organization is no closer to winning an NBA Championship than they were a few years ago.
Although Williamson remains the cornerstone player for the franchise, NBA analyst Frank Isola doesn’t see the 23-year-old spending his entire career with the Pelicans, as revealed via SiriusXM NBA Radio on Twitter.
“I don’t see him spending 15 years with the Pelicans,” Isola said.

Isola made the comments in light of Williamson’s recent contract news.
The two-time NBA All-Star previously signed a five-year, $197 million contract with the New Orleans Pelicans.
But considering Williamson’s inability to maintain his weight and keep himself out of injury trouble, the Pelicans put in several special clauses in his humongous contract.
Due to Williamson missing more than 22 games last season, the final three years of his contract are no longer guaranteed.
In simple terms, it allows the Pelicans to waive Williamson after the 2024-25 NBA season with no dead cap hit.
However, Williamson can still earn back his money if he plays a certain amount of games each season and maintains his weight throughout the years.
Keeping Williamson’s history in mind, it’s no surprise that Isola doesn’t see the former number one overall pick playing the majority of his career with the Pelicans.
