Patrick Mahomes is considered by just about everyone to be the best quarterback and overall player in the NFL, and at age 28, he may not even be at the midway point of his career.
His numbers went down somewhat last season, but come playoff time, he was his usual self as he led the Kansas City Chiefs to their third Super Bowl championship in the last five years, making them a dynasty.
Mahomes is considered the betting favorite to win the regular season MVP, and ESPN’s Mina Kimes feels Mahomes will return to form in a big way this season because his team will have more juice in its passing game, per ESPN BET.
Kimes even said we will see the type of “explosive” Mahomes we saw back when star wide receiver Tyreek Hill was a teammate of his.

Last season, the Chiefs got the job done with a young and unproven group of wide receivers, and they almost reinvented themselves as a more conservative offensive outfit that won largely with defense.
They went from first in net yards per pass attempt in 2022 to just 13th in that category in 2023.
But this year, they have a couple of new downfield weapons.
They brought in wide receiver Marquise Brown, who isn’t an extremely prolific threat but can stretch the field, and they also have rookie wideout Xavier Worthy, who set a combine record by running the 40-yard dash in just 4.21 seconds.
It was as recently as 2022 when Mahomes won the most recent of his two regular season MVP awards by leading the NFL with 5,250 passing yards and 41 touchdown passes.
He did so that year even though Hill had been traded to the Miami Dolphins, and it proved to the world that Mahomes is Mahomes no matter who is lining up alongside him on offense.
