Fans of the Los Angeles Lakers were riding high on Friday night, and then the game against the Brooklyn Nets began.
Four quarters later, the Lakers were left confused and embarrassed by a 130-122 drubbing.
Following the game, fans and analysts were talking about the state of the Lakers and the painful sting of this defeat.
Writing for The Athletic, Lakers expert Jovan Buha called Friday night’s defeat “possibly worst-loss-of-the-season bad.”
The Lakers’ 130-112 blowout loss to the Nets on Friday night at was bad.
“They started to make a run, and we just kind of fell apart,” said Darvin Ham.@jovanbuha on another third quarter meltdown:https://t.co/oq876hvLNz pic.twitter.com/cFlipxywl1

There were many reasons why the Laker’s performance was really bad.
The biggest reason was that they were winning for much of the first half and then seemed to hand the game away to the Nets.
To make matters even worse, the loss came just days after back-to-back wins over the Oklahoma City Thunder and Dallas Mavericks.
This was a team that was looking a lot better and now they are in disarray again.
LA’s defense was a complete mess for much of the game and there were many shots that were left uncontested.
The offense was sloppy and poor too and even the easiest layups looked impossible at times.
The team fell apart in a number of ways and it has fans very worried again.
They are also demanding a change as the trade deadline rapidly approaches.
The team is mostly healthy and the lineup has remained consistent over the last few games.
That means the Lakers had no excuse for what happened on Friday night and that is probably the most troubling aspect.
Inside reporting has said that the Lakers are contemplating making major changes in the next few weeks, pursuing several stars who could improve their roster.
Following Friday night’s terrible loss, it’s far more likely that the front office will attempt to do something.
