The Houston Texans struck gold when they got C.J. Stroud.
Stroud has been one of the most impressive rookie quarterbacks we’ve seen in years, and he has the team way ahead of schedule.
That’s why former NFL defensive star Willie Colon talked about how impressed he was with his ability to extend plays with his legs, just like Joe Burrow, as well as how poised he is and how easily he took control of the offense.
On top of that, Craig Carton raved about the fact that he has just one interception through the first eight games of his career, which is remarkable, especially if you consider how often he throws the football (via The Carton Show).
“C.J. Stroud looks like the complete package right now early in his career and he’s a big time quarterback.”

Stroud makes big plays but doesn’t take that many risks.
His ball-placement and decision-making have been elite, and he seems unfazed by the bright lights.
There was a lot of chatter about him not having the same upside as Bryce Young and about his reportedly low scores in some IQ tests, and he’s about to run away with the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year honors, all while Young has only won one game.
The Texans are fun to watch, and Stroud has made every single one of their skill players better.
No one expected them to be in the mix for a postseason spot this deep into the season, and while DeMeco Ryans deserves plenty of credit for the culture turnaround as well, most of the credit should also go to the rookie out of Ohio State.
