The Las Vegas Raiders began their 2023 campaign with a close win over the Denver Broncos.

This victory likely came as a sigh of relief for Raiders fans given Derek Carr’s absence from the team.

While it wasn’t the best statistical performance of his career, Jimmy Garoppolo did enough to secure the victory for the Raiders.

After this game, Craig Carton believes he had seen enough of Garoppolo to make a judgment on him, saying, “Jimmy G, all that guy does is win.”

As a starting quarterback, Garoppolo’s career record is 41-17.

While he might not be the “prettiest” quarterback on the field as Carton mentions, Garoppolo has proven to be a winner.

This is great news for the Raiders considering their recent absences from the postseason.

The Raiders have only made the playoffs twice in the last 20 years, losing the Wild Card game in both appearances.

Many believed Carr was not the person to lead them to the promised land, a potential reason for him moving on to the New Orleans Saints.

With Garoppolo, there is a renewed sense of belief from the fanbase along with pundits across the league.

He finished his first game as a Raider with 202 passing yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.

Garoppolo also had a completion percentage of 76.9%, a sign that he did not make a lot of mistakes throughout the contest.

Can the Raiders make their way back to the postseason with Garoppolo under center?
