The 2024 NFL Draft is nearly here.

All of the speculation and hype will end, as fans will now know where their favorite prospects will end up.

When looking ahead to next week’s draft, Sam Monson and Steve Palazzolo sat down to discuss their favorite defensive players from this year’s class.

There has been significant buzz about offensive players in this year’s draft, especially considering the number of solid receivers, quarterbacks, and offensive linemen.

Defensive players have gotten overlooked, but Monson and Palazzolo made sure to discuss them in their conversation, which was shared via The 33rd Team.

When asked about his take on the best defender in the draft, Monson said, “I think it’s UCLA edge rusher Laiatu Latu.”

Latu was one of the best defensive players in the country during his final season at UCLA, and if his collegiate tape is any indication, he should make a name for himself in the NFL.

He might not be taken within the first five or ten picks of the draft, given team needs at quarterback, receiver, and offensive linemen, but Latu should be a first-round pick for someone.

Monson thinks he is the best defender in the class, which is high praise from an analyst of his stature.

It will be interesting to see how it all plays out and which players will make the most significant impact on the teams that draft them.

This year’s draft has received a lot of hype, so fans hope it pans out for their favorite teams.
