The Milwaukee Bucks have been one of the best teams in the NBA since the emergence of Giannis Antetokounmpo.
With him on the floor, they remain a constant threat in the Eastern Conference, and after adding Damian Lillard heading into the 2023-2024 season, this team looked unstoppable.
However, while the Bucks are still among the leaders in the East, they haven’t looked as dominant as they have in years past.
Some analysts, including Craig Carton, believe this is due to their addition of Doc Rivers as head coach.
Carton went so far as to say, “Doc Rivers is the most overrated coach in the history of basketball.”

These comments come after the Bucks lost to the Washington Wizards on Tuesday, April 2nd, and seeing the team’s record of 15-14 under Rivers.
This is a stark difference from what the team was doing with their former head coach, Adrian Griffin, who led the Bucks to a 30-13 record during his tenure.
It is unclear if Rivers is the main reason for the team’s downfall or if something else is going on with the Bucks this year.
Either way, something will have to give for this team in the playoffs if they want to make a deep run.
Teams like the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers continue to improve, which could make them tough to beat in the playoffs.
Anything seems possible for the Bucks when Antetokounmpo is on the floor, but he does need help and support from his coaches and teammates, especially with the tough competition in the East.
