There doesn’t appear to be much of a championship hangover for the Denver Nuggets who look like a favorite to repeat during the 2023-24 NBA season.
Despite missing Jamal Murray for a handful of games, the Nuggets are right near the top of the Western Conference and haven’t shown many weaknesses on either end of the floor.
Reigning NBA Finals MVP Nikola Jokic remains just about as efficient as ever as he’s turning in another MVP-caliber season.
Jokic has blossomed into the undisputed best player in the league and there doesn’t seem to be a defense capable of slowing him down at this juncture of his career.
Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry was thought to be the pinnacle of modern NBA offense, but it looks like that mantle has been shifted over to Jokic.
With that being said, Jason Timpf believes that Jokic is a much more potent offensive system than Curry is via The Volume.
“That makes him, in my opinion, the most unguardable offensive player of all time,” Timpf said.

Timpf argues that when watching Jokic, there is an inevitability of what he’s going to do on the floor that he doesn’t get from watching any other player.
Not only is Jokic a load to handle on the low block, but he’s also arguably the best passer in the league and will punish teams for any sort of defensive mistakes.
Curry and Jokic are generational talents that fans are fortunate enough to see on a daily basis, but there’s no denying how special the latter is compared to his peers.
