When you are the head coach of a Super Bowl-contending team, the standard is very high.

If you don’t meet that standard, you could be looking for a new job after the season is over.

This could be the case for Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni, at least that is according to former NFL wide receiver and ESPN analyst Andrew Hawkins, who has Sirianni as the No. 1 NFL head coach on the hot seat.

“He has his quarterback. He has his offense with a ton of talent…In the first 11 weeks of last season, they were one of the best teams in the NFL, and yet still, they imploded,” Hawkins recently said on Get Up.

The standard in Philadelphia, especially over the last half-decade, has risen immensely.

For example, even after winning Philadelphia a Super Bowl in the 2017 season former head coach Doug Pederson was fired after just five total seasons.

Nick Sirianni has led the Eagles to three consecutive playoff berths, a Super Bowl appearance, and 36 total wins (including playoffs) across his tenure there.

However, as Hawkins noted, the team imploded after starting with a record of 10-1 last year.

They ended up finishing 11-6 and losing in the wildcard round to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Sirianni has a great roster in place, especially offensively, which is why he might need to make a deep playoff run to keep his job in the end.

Anything less than an NFC Championship appearance, especially with the likes of Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, A.J. Brown, and a talented defense in the fold, is likely unacceptable.
