The Dallas Cowboys have put their fans’ patience to the test in the offseason, and the same goes for their players.
For undisclosed reasons, they haven’t agreed to pay CeeDee Lamb the kind of money he so clearly deserves.
The star wide receiver hasn’t shown up to training camp as a result, forcing the team’s hand to give him what he’s due.
Everybody but the Cowboys seems to know just how crucial he is to their offense.
As a matter of fact, former NFL WR Andrew Hawkins recently claimed that he’s the only true playmaker they have.
Talking on ESPN’s Get Up, the former player stated that as good as their wide receivers are, they only make an impact because of how much attention Lamb draws.

Of course, their presence prevents Lamb from drawing double teams, but not having him out there makes it much easier for opposing defenses to guard their other wide receivers one-on-one.
Hawkins explained that Lamb’s presence pretty much helps the Cowboys dictate the offense.
Lamb has established himself as one of the best offensive weapons in the game.
The Cowboys could’ve locked him up at a cheaper price had they gotten a deal done before Amon-Ra St. Brown or Justin Jefferson, and they will now have to pay up to keep him around.
That’s poor salary-cap management, poor personnel management, and simply not a good look for future free agents.
